We try to limit it to those with some conection to surfing.
The local lifesaving club at Rest Bay got broken into at the end of October and their quad bike was stolen. It was used predominately to reach casualties on the beach quickly and to launch their surf rescue boat. In 2012 they rescued 6 people and assisted a further 17 from the water. They're currently raising funds to replace the ATV before summer 2013 as without a vehicle to launch their rescue boat they fear lives could potentially be put at risk.
