Theft of vehicles

Theives are still targeting surfers. To try and  combat this we have a few initiatives at Rest Bay.

Key Holding facility at the Surf School Trailer. We will hold your keys while you are in the water.

We aren't at the beach 24/7 so why not invest in a waterproof keypouch. We are selling them for what they cost us £8.50.

Discouraging the use of Keypods - No answer from any insurers or the Association of British Insurers as to whether you are covered if your keys are with the vehicle.

Meeting of interested Parties - If you use Rest Bay, OR are a member of any local clubs that use Rest Bay, please try to attend a meeting on Wednesday 22rd May at Malcs Cafe, 6pm

Lifeguard station was broken into and their Rescue Quad stolen.

White VW Van stolen from High Tide Car Park. Keys were in a lockbox, which seems to be pretty useless. If you use one of these, check with your insurance as technicaly - you are leaving the keys with the car - AND - it only took a couple of minutes to break off.

2 girls had their car and all possessions stolen whilst surfing.

Bring your keys to our van and we will look after them for you.

Its a free Service but a donation to Charity is welcomed.

05-02-12  Sunday 5th Feb 2012.

I've had reports today from a number of sources, of a white Y Reg Transit Van with suspicious characters, watching for people to hide their keys under their car.  Apparently, the police have been informed.  This just goes show, that if you are aware of whats going on around you, you can take note of these type of people. Once they have been seen, they are less likely to get away with pinching cars and possessions.

11-11-11 Someone Left a Surfboard at Rest Bay - An Evolution Fish Surfboard with 4 Aces on it - Contact us if you found it.
